About This Event

DFN Project Search is a supported internship programme for young people aged 17 to 24 years with an EHCP who are autistic or have a learning disability and are looking for a job.

We have two different Project Search programmes, one based in the Civic Centre in Uxbridge and one based in Hillingdon Hospital.

The Project Search programme gives young people the chance to develop their employability skills as well as providing hands-on experience in the workplace and gain confidence in applying for a job.  During this 1-year programme, interns will:

  • Complete work experience in three different departments
  • Work towards gaining an employability qualification
  • Be supported by a college tutor from Orchard Hill and a Job Coach from Hillingdon Autistic Care & Support
  • Gain confidence and increase your employability skills through  carrying out 800 hours of work experience!

Towards the end of the programme, interns  are supported to apply for roles within the hospital, council or in the local  community. This programme is delivered in partnership with The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London Borough of Hillingdon, DFN Project SEARCH and Orchard Hill College. Come along to our information session in the Civic Centre to find out more about both programmes.
